Due to a political kerfuffle and our contract with the lottery coming to an end, my partner Scott Rasmussen (scottras.com) and I were the only people from the agency working the account. On top of that, our assignment from the client was pretty open-ended. It was literally just: “How do we get people to not hate the lottery?” We came up with strategy, sold the campaign, and produced the work all on our own. It was easily one of the most stressful, rewarding projects of my career.  

"Birds" won us a bunch of awards, including a Cannes Lion, Best in Show at the National Addys, and a brief appearance on "Last Night Tonight with John Oliver." Also, penguins bite.
